The Folk Club
Mitcheldean Folk Club is a diverse group of men and women of all ages who meet regularly in the White Horse pub to share a range of music, songs and poetry from around the world.
The regular meetings on the second Thursday of every month are informally led by Andy Scarf, and everyone takes a turn (some as individuals, others in groups) to present a new or old piece of music or recite a poem.
Themes are a mixture of old and new folk songs, comic songs and monologues, chorus numbers and even re-worked pop songs and television signature tunes. The session starts at 8:00pm and participants are advised to arrive early to be sure of getting a seat
New members and guests are always welcome. There is no admission charge and no formal membership process. All you need to do is turn up and enjoy yourself!
Regular members of the Folk Club are helping to organise the Fete and Folk Festival and many will be performing in the Acoustic Showcase and Evening Concert.
